Its growing… slowly…

It is growing – but it does seem awfully slowly…

Slow progress...

I am running out of yellows… I may even have to buy some yarn (oh NOOOoooo 🙂 )

Happy days…

I’m on a roll…

I’m getting a bit obsessed with this blanket…

This is what confronted me on the floor this morning… there are more scraps of yarn under the bed… haven’t sorted those out yet…

A tangled mess...

A tangled mess…

The blanket is progressing – its very addictive and very enjoyable.  I am knitting 2 strands of yarn together and changing just one strand at a time so the colours merge together a bit.  Its fun to work out what colour I should transition to next so that I am not placing the same colours together as I knit round and round.

Actually, it takes longer to mess with the colour choices than to do the knitting itself 🙂

Happy days…

Couldn’t wait to start on this…

Having knitted hundreds of pairs of socks over the last 10+ years, I have loads of bits of yarn just crying out to be used up for something.

As soon as I saw this pattern I knew I wanted to make it.  Its called Ten Stitch Blanket and is designed by Frankie Brown.  Her pattern is available to download via Ravelry.com.

And I couldn’t wait to get a nice daylight photo either – here is the best I could do this evening under the lights in the kitchen…

Leftover blanket...

Leftover blanket…..

This version goes round and round in a square/rectangle but there is a version that spirals round in a circle and a zig-zag version too… but one thing at a time, haha!

I LOVE it – such a fun thing to knit and makes a great change from socks…

Happy days/nights…

Another funny baby hat…

Here is the white hat finished…

Should I add more tentacles?

Should I add more tentacles?

I picked up stitches and knitted i-chords all around the top – I love the look!  I did toy with making them different colours… or even making eyes for the ends… maybe I’ll do that on another hat… hmmm…

I hope this baby isn’t going to get a complex wearing my daft creations!

Happy days…

Another pair of booties…

This is a fun pair…

Rainbow yarn...

Rainbow yarn…

… and this time I crocheted little circles on the ends of the ties instead of making pompoms.  My mum said that babies put their feet in their mouths and she thought maybe pompoms wouldn’t be a good idea…  I hadn’t thought of that…

So I decided to try something different and I rather like this alternative.

I have 2 more pairs to finish off with some ties and a couple more pairs on the needles… baby due in just over a month…

Happy days…
